What we need is better bomb control laws, obviously.
If only we were able to put more bombs in law abiding citizen's hands, maybe someone would have been able to prevent this.
Or maybe if we take away some more freedoms, and spy on more American's, we can finally be safe in this country.
/sarcasm off mode: Seriously though, if our government wasn't run by and for corporations, we wouldn't have so many problems in this country. /sarcasm: But I can't be arsed to actually vote for a better politicians or stay informed of what's going on, American Idle (sic) is back on.
SixThumbs, you actually think comparing someone making a bomb, with someone making their own firearm, is an apt analogy? Criminals aren't out there making and building their own firearms, they have to get them from some source. Gun control laws would help cut the loopholes that are enabling felons to obtain weapons. I can (and do) go to many gun shows, and I can walk in and buy a firearm from a private citizen without any paperwork or background check. We have vehicle regulations and licenses to drive, but why not the same with firearms? Vehicles are deadly, but they are designed as transportation. Firearms are deadly, and that is their designated purpose. Asking people to become licensed to use a firearm isn't unreasonable, nor is keeping a record of who owns what firearms (so when one turns up in a crime, we know who it came from originally).
People will always go faster than the speed limit, does that mean that we should just remove them altogether? People will always commit assaults, should we just stop enforcing those laws, or trying to prevent them from happening?
