armor weight and wpf

can someone please explain to me how armor weight affects you, apart from slowing you down obviously.

I think I heard hand armor and head armor affect you most? what about body armor and boots?

Note: I don't think these forumla's have been released so this is mostly just community speculation/native forumals.

Body armor and boots use the raw weight of the armor. gloves are x2 and helmet is x3. Ideally you would want your total armor to be less then this:

5 + (2 x [Weapon Master skill]) + ([Strength above 10]/2)

Otherwise, you take a penalty on wpf and move speed. I think its something like ~10 wpf for every 1 kg over, but I could be wrong on that.

From the above-stickied Game Mechanics Megathread:

Armor weight modified proficiency = base proficiency * (1 - 0.01 * effective armor weight)
Effective armor weight = 2*head armor weight + body armor weight + leg armor weight + 4*hand armor weight - 10
(Source: WaltF4, updated 31.7.2012 based on the new formula)

This means that every point of armor weight with helmet weight multiplied by 2 and glove weight multiplied by 4  over 10 reduces your wpf by 1%. Or the same put other way, any effective armor weight from the above equation reduces your wpf 1% per 1 point.

Oprah where did you come up with that formula?

That is the native encumbrance formula.

I thought gloves counted as 4 times the weight, and helmet was 2 times the weight...

And by me saying "I thought", I have no clue where that notion came into my head...so I'm probably wrong :P

All in all arround 11 weight with no wpf reduce.
