Long axe vs Great long axe vs Long war Axe

Sure, compared to 95% of 1h, the elite scimitar is a great, easy to use weapon with balanced stats (I have been using my military hammer instead lately though). But compared to a poleaxe ? To a glaive ? To a longsword/HBS ? Seriously ?

This thread is pretty much confirming it what I've noticed from strat battles and pubbing, EU prefers GLA, NA prefers LWA.

You really want 3 more damage than 3 more speed and 2 less length?  We're already talking over 40 cut for each, and over 120 length for each...Ya'll cray cray (and not very good at comparing stats of weapons).

But like Grumbs said, the long bardiche is better than all 3 of these (IMO as well), 89 speed is fine when you have 140 length (damage is irrelevant to me, because again, it's all over 40cut)

I feel like speed isn't as important on polearms. Specifically ones that aren't absurdly fast. Most of the animation is in chambering the weapon and not the swing afterwards. By turning into your swings, you can offset most of the slow weapon speed.

That being said, the LWA is pretty sweet and I have never used the GLA.

Long axe also has nicer 20 cut thrust, compared to 16 blunt thrust in rest of the two.

Well neither is any of these 3 axes. If we start being really specific about animation/hitbox flaws I guess elite scimi takes the cake here. It isn't op but it's just fucking retarded sometimes because the hit connects a mile before the actual model (all weapon hitboxes are straight.)

I never mentioned anything about these poleaxes being broken or whatsoever, animations aren't really a problem atm personally.

For the same reason, those three axes (and many other polearms for that matter, glaive first) behave in a completely retarded way. You ever been hit by an invisible stick with a 45 degrees advance on the actual weapon model ? That is exactly what happens with LWAs. The issue with the scimitar is misleading reach, and hitting slightly before when it should when at the very tip of the reach (which won't happen unless as the person with the longest reach, you run towards your enemy like a retard). The engine problems related to these polearms are orders of magnitude greater in severity. This specific frame skipping problem means blocking those weapons just in time (that is, starting to block after the swing has been released) is almost frame perfect (and needless to say, not going to work with the slightest bit of lag).

Definitely not.  People never consider the length of things which annoys me.  Not to mention the damage difference is only by 1 (Swings at least).

Giving up one damage and a little length for speed.  Sounds reasonable to me.

Less length means less bouncing off the guy behind you instead of hitting your target.  (Short swords all the way brah)
