I don't think it's about decisions here, but the work they still have to do. It sure seems like a very stripped version of Arma 2 DayZ mod atm, lots of features that were in the mod already are missing, I guess due to architectural changes the game had gone through. Of course some new stuff is in but lots of basic stuff still not functional - like combat logging, loot respawns, amount of zeds, etc

It amazes me how people complain about "player killers" in DayZ. And/or how people are "friendly" to other players. How can you even enjoy playing like that? 1 possibly bugged zed per 10km hardly seems like much challenge, yet people are apparently happy with just looting rotten fruits 24/7 with no danger.

DayZ cycle of life: Finding gear -> then find people to "use" that gear on

Though it would seem a lot play it for the exploring too, but then they'll just have to imagine running into some nasty NPC's

I can't wait for when we can actually string people up in trees with the rope, plus bag people's heads so their green goes black.

All the horrible things people will be able to do to each other once this game is finished I wonder if it'll be banned in some countries.

There's already some weird tendencies going on, where people hold up others just to rob someone of their pants, and literally every body around has had their pants ripped off...
