double ended lance reamains with 16blunt.... It should have been changed to 23-4 cut

Indeed, it also makes it a pretty unique weapon; I'm glad to see that a lot low-mid tier polearms, specifically spears and staves, finally got their well deserved adjustments.

Look at it, it has pokey bits behind the spear head. Is it really that hard to imagine this spear doing pierce damage when swung sideways?

I'm glad to see this balance change. More variety of weapons is a great thing. Especially the cheap ones that people normally use as backup weapons. Adds a lot of variety to the fight.

That not really the way it's supposed to be used.
It's more to push (or block) the boar after the hit. To keep the distance with the animal.
