They merely used it in the same manner as the offending word, which is what triggered the mutes. Essentially, negga was used as a proxy for the n-word. Anddd this whole situation could have been avoided if there wasn't a person/player named Negga to begin with.
Isn't part of being an admin getting to the root of the problem. IE: Rather than muting 10+ people and banning one person; change ONE persons offensive name.

Because we aren't robots and take context into consideration. Take the word chink. Do we mute for it? If you say, "I've got a chink in my armor from your OP axe", then no. If you say, "I hate them damn chinks coming in and fucking up the server.", then yes, you will be muted.

Don't be stupid, and don't try to troll the server or test the admins' willingness to cut you short on pushing the boundaries and you won't get muted.

For my part, I would totally make Negga change his name, but there are a great many people I would have change their names, so I try to avoid names as an issue of administration whenever possible.

As to this actual issue, to those who were affected, I would say...really?  You actually think you can argue, in any way, shape, or form, that you were attempting to engage in legitimate dialogue?  Attempting to get a rise out of people by skirting the border of the rules, and continuing to do so in defiance of administrative requests that you cease, is not something which you are going to be able to "lawyer" out of.  The first rule of cRPG is common sense.  Please abide by it.
