Hand Pavise Shield
weight: 5
body armor: 17
difficulty: 4
hit points: 511
speed rating: 100
shield height: 55

Elite Cavalry Shield
weight: 5.5
body armor: 21
difficulty: 4
hit points: 250
speed rating: 100
shield width: 64

So Hand Pavise is only slightly smaller than Elite Cav, yet has twice the durability? Triangle shield is 600+ HP and 97 speed, making every other 2-slot kite shield (normans/heavy heater/etc) look very weak. Long Pavise is only new shield with balanced stats (it's a Heavy Board shield, basically). I don't like these new items that are making every existing item totally obsolete...

the triangle shield also is 2 slots and extremely expensive, which makes sense . i'd love it to be 1 slot with slightly weaker stats though  :|

Even with 2-slots, it is absurdly better than the Heavy Heater:

What's your reasoning for the Hand Pavise then? It's about the same price as Elite Cav, yet twice as good.

The pavise shields are russian/ baltic.

The only new armor from byz comission is italo-norman.

2 helmets are french/italo - norman.

1 mediterranean/european helmet

1 horse is purely european

1 european leg armor


You said that we want our new byzantine roleplay items to be OP.  Not only the items are not byz exlusive thematically, anyone is free to use them, not just byzantium members . And the items were made for the community, not for 1 clan. So excuse me when i say that your sarcasm annoyed me, you should think before posting next time. I do agree some items need balancing though.

they both are pictured as used by cavalry as well as infantry on reference pictures actually. Sorry i'm too lazy to look for those pics on my pc atm.

Ujin, a lot of the new stuff is obviously unbalanced.

The 1h swords, the new mace (30 thust dmg, wtf?), the Triangle shield being absurdly fast for such a heavy shield (a 'convenient' 97 speed for hitting 100 speed fully loomed), the Phyrgian helmet being a smudge lighter than all the other helmets of it's armor value, the Hand Pavise being quite clearly the best shield overall...

All of the stuff is either absolute top-tier or simply overpowered. Considering the best new gear seems to be mostly Byz themed it's no wonder people are getting a bit pissed off.

Hope they fix it soon, because quite frankly I haven't seen anything like this before (new items are usually pretty toned down).

A better comparison of shields:

Knightly Heater Shield

Edit 1: By "Byz themed" I mean they look and feel like something you guys would use (which I hope, they're awesome models with a very distinct look!).

Edit 2: Triangle and Heavy Pavise on horseback? What the hell? Screw historical references or whatever, it's not balanced.

But Spathion, Paramerion, Triangle shield need to balance. higest price is not true way

Hand Pavise would need to have around 300 HP to be even remotely balanced. Triangle like 400 HP. Long Pavise is one of the few new items with balanced stats already.

The models/textures all look great, and I'm glad to have all this stuff in the game. But the hugely overpowered stats are probably causing people to waste loom points and make unwise trades right now.
