It is just an aspect of the real problem.
What is the real problem then?

Breakable fucking doors, what a shitty and boring game mechanic.
And they are always bugged first round as well making it very hard to defend.

Everytime i stand hacking at a door i want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon.
I wish we didnt have any maps with those damn doors in them.

I'm fine either way, as long as the rule is the same for everyone. Add a mention of it to the official rules.

I'd love some clarification on this too.

Needless to say, I hate this glitch myself. It does not make any sense at all when a dude can slash someone on the otherside of the door. And it is ridiculous how some people have literally excelled in this glitch. I watch them kill one after another without missing a single time.

Besides, what I have recently experienced with Idzo was the final straw. There I was as a defender behind one of those grid-like doors with square gaps all over (damn, can't remember the map's name). Attackers showed up and started beating it down and I decided to poke them with my great long bardiche through the gaps. And I swear I don't do this. I mean it that I don't. That one single time, I wanted to do it for a change. I mean everyone does it, nobody gets told off, I keep warning people about it all the time, admins seem to have mixed feelings about the issue and the thing gets discussed at least three times on EU2 throughout the day without a conclusion etc. etc. Still, I decided to do it just for once and dear Idzo felt the need to go bossy with me like 'Stop it for your own good'. I explained him quite everything I have written so far and his hero-of-crpg, do gooder bossiness wouldn't back off.

Under the above circumstances, this literally drove me mad. So, all in all, I would seriously like a relevant rule to be introduced and practiced by all game admins. Not that I will even ever try it again in case I have to bear the same shit again but we still need a precise rule here.

im often stabbing through the gaps in a door when some retarded axeman shows up next to me and starts blocking the gaps where i want to stab through to hit through the door. ofcourse he does more damage to the door than the people he kills and the door breaks...

Was on siege a few days back and there was a player with a Flamberge (yes the longest 2h weapon) with every side swing hitting through the door, problem is because the weapon is so close noone could get close to the door to get any hits on it, which completely ruins the game.

It's exploiting and a glitch that has been in warband since day 1, if its glitching it is against the rules.

Is it possible to swing through a door when there is no one on the other side? Or does the swing get blocked by the door in that case?

So retarded. The point is you shouldn't have to block at all when there's a friggin solid wooden door that's closed between you and the enemy. I'm sure this was fixed at some point as I remember weapons losing any power as soon as they hit the door. Not sure why it was removed...this may have been on some other warband mod, I dunno.

you hit the door, but if people (mostly twohanders and people with knifes) stand close enough they can also hit the person behind it. I dont have any problem with a knife through a door, but a 2hander?

swinging through a door without someone behind it does damage to the door so yeah it does get blocked

if there's someone in reach of your swing you do damage to that player instead of the door

Are we actually talking about solid doors or the doors that you can stab at people if you stab through the holes?

I just realized that the function required for this was never implemented in WSE2 servers (not just the new test one). I fixed that now, but I can't really update the "old" WSE2 servers, so I might have to switch siege to the new test one.
