1h shield build

hello guys i tend to use heavy armor such as heraldic transnational,but i am having problems with fighting agi 2h.
i tried 21/18 but it is too bad. So what build you suggest me to use?

I would use a little bit ligther armor if I were you. I am using 21/18 (lvl 32) with a Brown Rus Lamellar Cuirass and a Nordic Champion's Sword at the moment and it is awesome. Or go for a high strength/hit points build like 27/12.

i bought lordly pronoia armor,and head armor so i lost some weight in gear there. I am going for 18/21 build should be fine.

Honestly, go even lighter armor than that. When I shield its ragged outfit hourglass gauntlets knightly kite shield and of course NCS. your shield and footwork / knowing when to manually block, should be more than enough to finish every round still alive! and go 18/18 because balanced builds are best builds.
Riding is optional in this build but its fun to have imo.

when i was shielder i had pretty much fun with 18 24 (lvl 33)  i could catch up basicly everyone and still hit pretty hard (mw Broad One Handed Battle Axe)

I play with light gear for like 1.6 years and i am sick of it.
Everyone roll in plate,i want to be member of the club too. Spent 19 gens playing with shit i want to use good stuff now when i am full of looms and gold.
Nord Rollo,Deserter Have a thee and other people run with heavy armor and shield and swords and they are pretty good. Even Bjord was using same armor as me with 24/18 build and he was good. So it is not in gear,it is more in build and skill.
I like to take a lot of hits before i die,low gear is opposite of my wishes.
I know that deserter have a thee had 18/21 build,and he used sallet with visor and coit,flated boots,hearldic trans,plated gloves,huskarls shield and ncs and was pretty fast.
But i don't know is he using IF and have 0wm or opposite.

21/18 is simply best for lvl 30-31.

I feel fast enough, and I was using basically the same armor set today as you today Mlekce. I've always been an avid fan of the 18/21 and 18/24 builds before, but it just doesn't cut it, literally.

You just have to deal with the fact that you cannot deal with every situation as well as you'd like. Agility two-handers like Lolgen for example might be a pain in the ass. If you can, let your ranged shoot them instead.

I've played many gens of shielder, and "ninja" 2h opponents were always the toughest.
If you have 6 athletics and a long, decently fast weapon like the NCS, its more a question of adjusting your tactics rather than your build.


Here is my advice;
1. Keep patient.  Let them spam wildly and feint around, just keep your shield up until you know you have an opening.
2. Keep them directly in front of you, and within striking distance.  They will try to dance in and out of range, and get on your flanks to hit around your shield.  Be tenacious as a bulldog holding a chew toy and keep them front and center.
3. Learn some manual blocking, because your shield will fail some times.

In terms of equipment, the NCS is good for fighting agi 2h builds.  Aim for the head.  You will also definitely want high shield skill and a tough shield so ninjas can spam it without too much worry.
In terms of armor...you can use heavy armor... I'd say transitional is pushing it, but definitely still viable.  With 6 athletics you can keep up with all but the most extreme agi builds when they're back-pedaling.  Remember to be tenacious in pursuit and wait patiently for an opening.

Your original question was about builds.  My favorite is 18/18 build.

If you want to wear heavy armor and 1h/shielder, I suggest 21/15 for a level 30 build. If you go higher, 24/15. You will become very beefy, but need to be careful for 2h and pole axes. Carry a tiny 0 slot 1h weapon for when you have to face hug. The extra speed really helps!
