Then I have no idea, my detective skills end there, but it SOUNDS like you have increased something through fighting, thus a level but I don't think there were any "hidden" updates, such as wpf increased by what you wear or "gaining better skill with a weapon or armour" through use.
I think it might have been a delayed reaction, or it might have been where the server got the skills through after you saved them on the website or the "c" character sheet. Just a notification saying this, that's my best guess anyway.
