Unrelated to k/d, multiplier, mod (works in DTV, duel, siege and battle), being alive (?)(some said they had it when dead, even if i'm a bit unsure of that).

Nobody can see it on their character page.
It doesn't lower the repair cost. People tend to think it decreases the repairing frequency, but no valid experiment there.

The more "points" you have for an equipment, the less ressources you'll need to craft it, and the better the quality (heirloomed item possible to craft)

Just keep playing as usual with a gear you like, and don't worry about it.
