Sorry - we figured he wasn't worth much as a horse archer so no point in offering more.  (Also, max payment for mercenaries in strat battles makes it easy to pay - just sign up one clan members and no show on one of our battles and we pay 1000 strategus gold instead of travelling all the way to eu to pay).

(Also, he has 15% of the gear from a HUGE battle so well worth attacking for that alone to sell all that broken plate armor and use the broken horses for trade caravan movements).
