well, after playing a little on my cav after the new patch, the hitbox seems to be very bad, worse than pre-patch where you didnt notice it much.
There have been time where i was sure i missed, i saw the enemy die, and then i was looking around for the teammate who had killed them untill i realized that my lance for some reason had hit them.
It has also been the other way around where i have seem my lance go through an enemy body without doing any dmg.
