Abuse in the auction

Hey I am new here, and I hope this is the right forum for it. Admin presence would be helpful.
I made offers at the auction, but noticed that immediatly when I send it, someone else offered mine with a +1.

The auction in question is the title "sorrowful thrower", and I do not think running auction bots should be legal.

That sounds weird, isn't the highest offer displayed? I thought that's how an auction works.

The Highest current offer is show. What isn't shown however is the users maximum bid.

You put the most you are willing to bid.

For example I put a maximum bid of 50k to win the title, If the current highest bid is say 30k then it will bid 30.1k for me. If you then bid 32k it will auto bid 32.1k for me.

It will do this untill you reach the users maximum bid

It works like Amazon (? not sure about that).

You put a bid at 100, if it's the new highest bid, then you will outbid the second highest bid by one gold.

Okay, I understand it now, thanks for the replies!

EDIT: I only see one place for the maximum bid though..

EDIT2: Nevermind that, I got it now. This system appears to be a bit cheesy to me, this is how Amazon works? Hm. Glad I don't buy there. On the other hand I am  not very familiar with online auctions, maybe it has a valid point.

The system is designed so you can't play a game with/abuse the auction. The optimal strategy is to simply bid what you truly wish to pay for the item.

It's how ebay works and it works like that so you don't have to sit in front of the auctions all day but can just enter how much you are willing to pay and then pay the lowest price according to what the other people bid.

The other way around people would wait till 1 min before the auction ends and then outbid by 1 and so on and the whole system would come down to who is in front of the machine at the point the auction ends.
