na, not comparing. i just stabbed an archer twice yesterday without him dying, then a hxbow mate chasing me took my remaining substantial amount of hp with one shot although i am wearing 60+ armor and was riding away from him.
just made me wonder, my horses is made of glass, my lance needs for ever to stab two times in a row. meh :'D
Must have been quite a lucky shot, usually 1 shot of a hx takes away 50% of my health and I'm 99% sure I've got less health than you and I wear around 45 body armor. To be honest, I am pretty happy that the fast horses are vulnerable to ranged fire, I usually need 2 good hits to bring one down (courser, arabian, rouncey, palfrey...
maybe a destrier if I hit good). For the heavier horses I need at least 3 shots.
Considering my reload time and my ammo limit, this is quite an effort.
Last gen I was using +3 Steel bolts and +3 Heavy Xbow, which altogether does 90 pierce damage per shot +/- speed bonus, armor,....
I think a +3 Arbalest would not make much of a difference, given that most horses are +3 now I also need 2 shots on a horse to kill it, except maybe a horse at full speed that is charging me at close range.
Remember that as cav, you are the number 1 enemy of any xbow, so either kill them as fast as possible or stay away and hope somebody else takes the xbow guy down.
I played HX this gen (played up to lvl20 or 21) and have to say, this is a real bullshit class. I respecced afterwards to infantry xbow again. I didnt even have the Arabian Warhelicopter and it was very easy to play. Used 2 Light Xbows to be able to shoot down enemy horses quickly, then ride away for the reload... repeat...
