Year 0
• Dawn of Man – The first humans wakes up from nothingness. They know nothing about the world other than the hot deserts they inhabit in Southern Calradia. These people are called Sa’ranat in primeval tongue – also known as the Ancient Sarranids.
Year 160
• Sarranid Sultanate is formed – After minor disputes the different Sarranid Clans unite under one banner and one sultan. Akim the Harbinger was a renowned and loved ruler and peace dominated the realm.
Year 492
• A new world – Sarranid scouts report of distant lands beyond the Great Dunes. The current sultan Azadum started turning his eyes outside his sultanates borders. The Sultanate is beginning to suffer overpopulation because of a thriving realm with no wars – and Azadum decides that his people must split. Some should travel northwest; some Northeast and the rest would stay in the Great Dunes.
Year 508
• The two chieftains Myrm and Aris would lead their people northwest. Myrms followers would later become the Rhodok Kingdom and Aris the Swadian Empire. Their people inhabited the lush highlands and and flat plains of western Calradia. It was not long before Myrm and Aris came to disagreement over who should own what land. Myrm believed that he should be the sole ruler. Aris and his people could obviously not stand idle by.
Year 511
• The Ancient Sarranid that would travel northeast arrives in the far eastern steppes. Some of the travelers liked the surroundings and opportunities for hunting and agriculture. These people would later become the Khergit Khanate.
• The other part of the travelers wasn’t satisfied yet. In the far horizon in the northeast they could skim the beautiful peaks of the snowy mountains. They sought out this distant corner of the world. They would before long rename themselves as the Vaegirs.
Year 518 - 531
• The first war in Calradia – Myrm and Aris continue to argue and disagree. In year 518 the tension is too high and war is inevitable. The two clans has developed weaponry in the year up to and they are both ready.
• The war is long and bloody. Today many refer to it as War of Fools – nothing were achieved; far too many were slaughtered. The war ends up dividing the clans even more and Myrm forms the Rhodok Kingdom and Aris the Swadian Empire. The two factions have no great battle worth of mention in the near future because of exhaustion and great losses.
Year 591
• Year of the Beast – The Khergits discovered the wild steppehorses a few decades ago. In 591 Imirza tamed the first stallion in history. He was declared Khan – the first ruler of the Khergits in history. Much time did not pass before the majority of khergits had tamed horses at their disposal.
• Having discovered the power of a mounted rider, the Khergits begun to thirst for power. Weaponry was developed and weapon engineers from both the Rhodok and Swadian were imported to the Khergit Khanate to help them forge great weapons.
Year 611
• Division – Small war bands of Khergits started pillaging and raiding Vaegir villages. The Vaegir were military inferior since they had not expected sudden betrayal and acts of aggression. The Vaegirs were a peaceful people that had focused on agriculture, hunting and basic adaption to the harsh cold in the mountains. The Khergit Khanate grew and the Vaegir borders shrunk.
• The Vaegirs were a broken people and exiled inside the mountains blocking off the exits. The last Vaegirs outside the blocked mountains were killed within few years.
Year 623
• The Nords arrive by longboats in Calradia. From where they came, no one but them knows. They choose to be neutral in the different disputes around the realm.
Year 677-681
• After having defeated the Vaegirs completely and driven them into the mountains, the Khergits still hunger for power. Few warbands starts harassing the inhabitants at the Sarranid borders. The Sarranid Sultante does not take this lightly. They turn the situation into their advantage. The Sarranids have never been to war, but being the original power in the world, they have followed the developing and engineering of weapons. They now have a reason to test out their skills in war and show the world that they are still a powerful force.
• Only four years did it take for the Sarranid to wipe out the Khergits completely. The few that did not surrender and join them were killed.
Year 702
• War in the west is coming again. The Rhodok and Swadians are mobilizing and getting ready for another great war. In year 702 War of the Bear begins.
Year 715
• After many years of war the Swadian are in dire need of help. A trade alliance between the Sarranid and the Rhodok has made the Rhodok economy bloom during the war. The Swadian borders are pushed back for every day that passes and in year 715 they have to surrender. The Swadian Empire is no more and becomes a Rhodok colony.
Year 753
• The Swadian people are suffering great suppression and depression. Swadian freedom fighters are becoming a frequent phenomenon and they act as the unofficial Swadian military. They are famous and praised by the Swadian people and infamous and hated by the Rhodoks. They are fierce warriors and many of them are veterans and seasoned warriors.
Year 761
• The official Swadian military is reestablished again. The Swadian freedom fighters has brought hope for their people. Many Swadian farmers and citizens are enlisted in the military - almost all of them voluntarily. The Rhodok does not like this sudden change and threatens with war. Swadia ignores the threat and begins hunting the Rhodok invaders down inside their land.
Year 763 - 767
• War of the Lion – The Rhodok Kingdom declares war against Swadia. The Swadians are an unstoppable force driven by vengeance, hate and revenge. It’s a relatively short war and while the Rhodok suffers great casualties; the Swadians had only lesser losses.
• The Paladin Order – In 765 the Paladin Order is established. It contains mainly the bravest and most honorable knights of Swadia. The Order primarily consists of many of the original freedom fighters. This feared order turned the tide of battle leading many of the Swadian legions to victory.
Year 767
• War of the Lion is over. Swadia won and drove the Rhodok invaders out of their lands. Peace ruled for a time in Calradia. Terion Vale becomes general of the Paladin Order.
Year 798
• The beginning of the Divine Age. The Swadian Empire is at its very peak.
Year 853
• Lesser war bands lead by paladins starts to roam the southern parts of Nordland. The Nords has kept them neutral and have had enough with internal struggles between chieftains. Swadia sought to gather many of the Nords precious resources and land. Within few years and without much resistance; Nordland becomes a Swadian colony.
Year 881
• The Paladin Order crushes a rebellion from within the land lead by General Vale. Many citizens do not appreciate the new Swadian Empire and the way Emperor Titus rules it, but their protests and rebellions were in vain.
Year 890
• Hagar Battleborn, a young Nord warchief, manages to unite the different Nord clans. They now seek to take back their land that was taken from them while they were divided. He gets a lot of support and his allies grow in numbers. General Vale and Count Meltor are appointed commanders in the Swadian Offensive. Their job is to maintain Swadias grip upon Nordland, but it’s slowly fading away.
• Besides that, the Rhodok kingdom has declared war again against Swadia again.
Year 896
• This is where the movie takes place.
