Xbow Cav Build Help

Hi, I am messing about with an alt Xbow/1hand/shield/cav build.I was hoping to get some advice on what to do as I am not sure where to start.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of this:

Strength: 15
    Agility: 21
    Hit points: 50

    Skills to attributes: 2

    Ironflesh: 0
    Power Strike: 5
    Shield: 4
    Athletics: 5
    Riding: 5
    Horse Archery: 3
    Power Draw: 0
    Power Throw: 0
    Weapon Master: 7

    One Handed: 101
    Two Handed: 1
    Polearm: 1
    Archery: 1
    Crossbow: 146
    Throwing: 1

Any help, much appreciated.

Strength:21
Agility:18

Weapon Master:5
Riding:6
Iron Flesh:5
Horse Archery:3
Power Strike:7

Two Handed:100
Crossbow:123

Thats what I am using right now at lvl 31.
Low WPF, trade of is more punch with you're (me lee) hits and more HP to stay alive longer.
Try a morning star and see if you can deal with the shorter reach, the pierce damage in combination with the speed bonus from you're horse is quite good.

It's gonna be expensive, but fun.

Here is what I would use:
(click to show/hide)

btw, if you join Peasants United (you have to be gen 1-3 for that), we are a non-profit support organisation for new players (i love saying that :P). We have trainers that can guide you in making a good build and telling you what to do. We also have an armoury where you can borrow stuff from for free as it might be pretty expensive to buy horses and than find out that xbow cav isnt fun.
Im not sure if you are new or not, but if you are interested, click the banner under my post.

3 horse archery is pretty low. I'd say use a build that has at least 4, preferably 5. 12/24, 7/30, riding/wm/HA maxed. 12/24 leaves a little room (9 skill points) for Shield and Powerstrike, 7/30 is dedicated.
You think you're pretty smart with your dago mustache and your greasy hair.

a shield seems a pretty bad idea to me, however i saw a druzhina member in eu1 tonight (he was HA with a shield and a 1h), he looked fucking awesome but i dont think its a good build

It seems that you want a build that can handle both xbowcav as well as playing a shielder on the ground. You must realize that 1h's don't hit very hard and without further dedication into 1h you'll just not be very effective. Shields are nice early on when you're still learning because it allows you to survive a hair longer, but you honestly should get used to manual blocking because of how long you're going to have to be fighting to kill someone with that low str and ps with a 1h.

I would advise either going for a more dedicated xbow-cav build such the Zapper 15/21 build (or even one of the minimaxed Malaclypse builds), or to go for a build with much more 1h dedication that will not have nearly the accuracy on horseback as a dedicated.

Trust me on this, I'm always trying to hybrid my builds to give me as much playstyle as possible, but I really notice when I don't hit for much damage that I'm in fights way longer.

Edit:: If you really want to have shield, throw away much of your xbow ability.
21str, 15 agi
7PS
5Shd, 5Ath, 5Rid, 2HA, 5WM
1001h, 121Xbow wpf
Move around a couple skill points as needed. You would need to have more oomph in your 1h hits.

And another edit: Maybe try a support/hoplite xbowcav hybrid? You wouldn't hit as hard, but you could get a bit more xbow wpf and try to back off to allies when your horse inevitably gets shot down.
18str, 18agi
6PS
6Shd, 6Ath, 5Rid, 6WM
100Pole, 133Xbow
You could lose an Ath point and maybe a shield point to put back into HA if you want to be more into the xbowcav, but you'll have a harder time escaping the angry horde of horsehunters

With this build you will have a decent amount of shield skill, enough wpf to be able to melee and still retaining a lot of xbow wpf so you will be accurate. However your melee attacks will be weak so I recommend using a piercing weapon and aiming for the face, Steel Pick does very high damage, is fast but short and expensive. I recommend Military Sickle for it's good speed, length, decent damage and low cost. However if you want more length and a cheaper weapon you can use Fighting Pick, but I suggest the Military Sickle. You can also use blunt weapons but I believe piercing headshots do more damage and are generally longer/faster but a little weaker, lighter and without knockdown. That being said, use what you wish; I suggest Winged Mace for it's very high damage, decent speed and weight. However the short length can be very irritating.
However I don't recommend getting a shield, with it you will either severely penalize your athletics / ironflesh.
Also I would recommend getting 50 wpf in one hand so you can be more accurate with your crossbow.
If you want maximum accuracy, you can go 12/27 but I don't recommend this either :)
Strength:        12
Agility:         24
Skills to attributes:    2
Power Strike:     4
Shield:           5
Riding:           8
Horse Archery:    4
Weapon Master:    8
One Handed:     101
Crossbow:       154
VERY nice boy :)

if you use less than 6 powerstrike, always get a pierce/blunt high damage weapon as 1hander, or you will glance off

In summation of my post and Shaksie, at the least take away with this message.

Keep your builds light. I'd say around Lamellar Vest area in armor, whatever loomed gloves you can get ahold of. Do put a little bit of your weight into your boots if you find your playstyle to close harass infantry, but don't bother so much if you're anti-cav or you just like to keep your distance.

it might be pretty awesome if enemy cav is chasing you: just ride in front of them and shoot their horses :P

How important is the horse archery 4, Is it more important than PS 5?

What do you think of this build modified from Shaksie's build:

    Strength: 15
    Agility: 21
    Hit points: 50

    Skills to attributes: 2

    Ironflesh: 0
    Power Strike: 5
    Shield: 7
    Athletics: 0
    Riding: 7
    Horse Archery: 3
    Power Draw: 0
    Power Throw: 0
    Weapon Master: 7

    One Handed: 100
    Two Handed: 1
    Polearm: 1
    Archery: 1
    Crossbow: 146
    Throwing: 1
