Just take a break. A week, a month.

I took a much longer break than that sadly

The mod gets stale for me if I play the same class over and over again. Mix it up man, try new tactics like only shotgunning people and using smoke bombs. that's what I'm doing and it's hilarious and dangerous at the same time! I get one chance, if I miss the shot I'm either dead or yelling ninja vanish as the smokebomb hits the ground and I run for my life....

I used to be a real addict to this mod. I used to be able to play it for hours on end.

Any time I try to play it anymore, I can not play it for more than a few minutes, and I close out of it and I find browsing the internet to be more fun. Has anyone else felt this way about this mod? Or have I simply just outgrown it?

Welcome to gaming. It happens with every game.

And much earlier with most other games, even MMO's.

I think players are getting tired of the two main game modes, especially battle. We have two new gamemodes that are both ready for beta testing, but need some engine (wse2) fixes first, so we might have to wait a while for those.

As for battle, I'm not sure what can be done to improve it without ruining the mode. Feel free to post suggestions

Make it a bit crazier, as it use to be. Increase level cap so that diversity of builds increases, and bring back some fun weapons such as boulder on a stick and loony toon axe, no matter that they are unrealistic - so is everything else in this mod. Bring fun and crazy back to cRPG!!!
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Given the low variety of gamemodes we have to play I'd say it's actually somewhat miraculous that so many people play/ed this mod for so long. It's really a testament to how crappy other melee games are that we keep coming back to this one over and over. Strategus had and still has so much potential, that may be part of it, but I don't think a lot of crpg players are that much into Strat.
Like everyone else suggested, take a break from gaming in general. Also, I don't know if you ever donated any money (pretty sure you did actually) but think about how much time you've spent on this game compared to so-called AAA titles, or even native. Proportionally crpg would be worth at least 150 bucks or so to me.

Still, removing upkeep would make the mod more relaxed and chill. Especielly for us who havent got hoards of gold lying around.

Switch weapons, builds (non-gimmick), hybrid to do many different things in 1 round. My interest renewed when switching weapons around, and I am fortunate to be able to play at least 5 different classes with 1 character.

EDIT: And stop retiring/begin to retire, whatever choice you haven't been doing. Switch things up.

What it would make is everyone having millions of armor and doubling TTK, which would feel incredibly lame.

I don't know what it's like in EU, but in NA it already feels like upkeep has been removed.  You only need to sell a loom point once and you've set sail for level 33 with no issue.

I would wear my archon's armor and armors in that range even if you remove upkeep.

Poopyhammer, I have the same problem.

I just tried to play about twenty minutes ago. Played a round.. played a second round, realized how bored I was and closed the game.
And yes, browsing the internet is more entertaining.

Fresh off a 2-3 month break as well.

Just don't expect to play the same game for 2 years and not getting bored. Just wait for M&B II. :)
