I'd like to hear that the crpg devs are working with TW and will be working on Bannerlord MP and we get to participate in the beta.

I've had that sneaking suspicion (or at least possibility) for a long time now.  cRPG really tried to bring native single player style game to multiplayer.  I can imagine that idea is what the new version of M&B would be looking for.  That would explain why not a lot of changes are happening with strategus if they're focused on trying to make the MP version of bannerlord (or assist in it).

D: You know there had been many successful modifications for the game, and one of the best known is the Strategus – cRPG, which allows the players to have some sort of multiplayer campaign. Will there be any feature like that in the game to come?
R: at this stage a multiplayer, competitive or cooperative looks still pretty difficult to make.

TW have said there is a Bannerlord, so the game does exist, it just isn't finished. Many people who now make games orginally made mods, and all released games are is mods with an official release stamp. If the cRPG guys were in comms with TW, getting their design and code into BL wouldnt be too hard, especially if the work they have already done helped to get around the difficulties they spoke of in the interview
