No throwing hammers?

Why are there 3 types of throwing axes and javelins but no hammers?  Why not remove the regular throwing axes and add in some hammers that do blunt damage.

I would also love heavier damage rocks basically intended to drop on attackers.

I am not 100% but in game it looks like the speed rating applies to the wind up of the throw and also for melee mode but the velocity or whatever in mid air is the missle speed.
