Yep comfort is number 1 consideration really. You can get used to any sensitivity and do decent with it, just that if you're someone who makes quite a few mistakes with block directions or missing targets and you use quite high sensitivity, lowering it might help.
If you have ranged troubles use this:

Edited that cos I think I was thinking in CM :D .

Just to give a sense of how low people go, this is one of the better aimers in Quake with 52 cm for 360 and no acceleration :

Waaaaay too much picking up and moving of the mouse.  He needs to learn how to play with mouse acceleration so he doesn't have to have a 10 foot by 10 foot mouse pad.  Or else just turn sensitivity up some.

People in FPS games get so used to "lining people up" instead of relying on muscle memory and reactions...sure it works great if you're lining up a shot from across the map...not so well when someone sneaks up on you, or you come to a T in the road and need to look both ways quickly.

Holy fuck, as a frequent Quake (3) Live player I can't imagine that working for me at all. Only use for low sens I can think of is long range sniping, but there isn't any of that in QL.

Wasn't it possible to lower/increase mouse sensitivity based on which weapon you switched to with macros?

Like lower for railgun, higher with others?

Cant remember, but something tells me that was possible  :?:

Yeah I believe it was, but it doesn't seem this guy is using it.

Thanks for the replies, gives me something to think over. Any thoughts on field of view? Ive raised mine a little though judging distances get pretty weird, takes some adjusting I guess.

Well each and every good Painkiller player had their sensitivity over 20-35cm/360, and I wouldn't call that game slow. High sensitivity makes twitching easier, but it's nowhere near as accurate as a good player with low sensitivity. He're some Painkiller action, both using around 30cm/360

Yeah me too, anything above that makes the game looks like a fish eye

control panel - mouse - mouse pointer options and under movement there is the acceleration checkbox

It has nothing to do with crpg directly.

if you have win 7 download registry changer to remove acceleration. you can't remove it manually like xp users can.

I'm pretty sure I did it without registry intrusions - untick "Enhance pointer precision" under mouse settings in Win7. Also check mouse driver settings and disable it there as well.
