What sensitivity do you use and wy? Im at around 60% of the slide bar, when i look around shit tends to get mashed up alot whilst moving so i'm wondering would decreasing my sensitivity chnage anything about that?

Please shed some light on what you use and wy, cause im curious.

Thanks in advance brethren

People telling you what mouse sens they use in game won't help you at all for different reasons:

- user preference / playstyle
- mouse quality and dpi
- windows / driver sensitivity settings

If you feel like it's too much, try decreasing and see how it works. Then you can start increasing it little by little when you get used to it.

A tip: Disable mouse acceleration. No real gamer uses that shit ass setting.

ive played around with  it for ages but i am wondering what peoples preferences and the reason behind them are and maybe get some tips/clues to help me a little. What is mouse acceleration and what does it do exactly?

I think my mouse sensitivity ingame is around 80%. Basically, in every game I want whatever sensitivity make me easily do a 180 turn.

Then again, I think my mouse movement to left and right sux, cause about 20% (estimate, ofc) I make a downward block instead of left or right and it pisses me off

Was told to lower the sensitivity as that might help, but then I cant make a smooth and fast 180 turn  :|

No idea if my rambling help at all lol

EDIT: Regarding mouse acceleration...is that option ingame (I cant remember and am at work)? Or in config only? or....? thnx

Mouse acceleration changes the distance the mouse pointer moves relatively to the speed you move your mouse at. So when you move your mouse fast from point A to point B, your mouse pointer is going to move further than if you moved your mouse slowly from point A to point B. It's much better for gaming to have fixed distance your mouse pointer takes with whatever speed you move your mouse.

Mines a bit left of the middle, 800 DPI and 1900 wide screen. Default windows setting (6/11, but no acceleration)

Best way to compare sensitivities though is to actually measure the distance your mouse moves for you to turn 360 degrees ingame.

Its all about preference though and what you feel comfortable with. If you copy one guys settings it might be uncomfortable for the way you like to hold the mouse.

Theres a few different hand grips people use..if you move the mouse with your whole arm then you can get away with much lower sensitivities than someone who uses wrist or finger movements, but you might find you can be more accurate with wrist/finger movements so it balances out.

Best not to think too much about it though..if what you use now isn't getting in the way of making blocks and accurate hits then I wouldn't change. Unless you use crazy high sensitivities and make a lot of mistakes I'd just use what you're used to. This isn't a game that requires you to be super accurate anyway

thanks for the replies fellas and some interesting ideas (or thoughts?) have been shared, i have now disabled Mouse acceleration and it's quite different! it feels way more precise now, rather then having to randomly guess where it'll end up. imma play around with my sensitivity a bit, see if I can finetune it, imma try the 360 aswell, allthough i dont do those alot. :)

About the 360, you don't necessarily need to be able to do a 360, its just a way to compare between people what type of sensitivity you have. If you want to just put you mouse on the far left of your mouse pad and point at something on screen. Then rotate in a straight line right until you are pointing at the original position. Then measure from left side of the pad to your mouse

This takes out all the different combinations of dpi and ingame settings so you can see if you have a crazy high sensitivity, medium or low. Generally its best to use the lowest you can while still being able to move comfortably. Low = accuracy but might cost you in reactions or awareness. Up to 10 cm probably higher sens, over 20-30 low. Depends on the game though and how you hold the mouse. In a combat game like this with slow movement and more predication based aiming, I don't think you need to worry much about it

I do 5 360's from the start to the end of my mousepad which 25 cm wide and my mouse is 7.5 cm wide.

17.5 / 5 = 3.5

3.5 cm for a full turn, which is 1.4 inches in retardspeak.

0-10 probably high sensitivity.
You've got to be kidding me, I know I am a sensitivity whore, but damn.

Edit: 25 - 7.5 is not 18.5, stupid me

It's much better for gaming to have fixed distance your mouse pointer takes with whatever speed you move your mouse.

For most people, but not for me.  I grew up with mouse sensitivity on when playing games like Counter-Strike and it was crucial to my reactions to have it on.

If I move my mouse faster to the right, I want my character to look more urgently to the right...

Maybe my brain just works different than others, but I rely on reactions more so than "lining" people up.  In my head, if something moves faster for the same period of time, it will go farther.  My mouse is a representation of my character in game, but not a direct correlation.

I also lance people from cavalry using first person :P

I have mine about 80% of the way to the right.

I have a tiny mouse that I can easily claw with my hand and move with my wrist, so I maintain good accuracy.

Edited that cos I think I was thinking in CM :D .

Just to give a sense of how low people go, this is one of the better aimers in Quake with 52 cm for 360 and no acceleration :

If I had to do wolololspear stabs with that kind off sensitivity I would get carpal tunnel syndrome in an hour.
