HBO's Game of Thrones. [No Book Spoilers]

Meh with Vic gone from the show to have Euron say that ''Lets go murder them'' kinda makes sense considering what they were plotting and the insanity of Euron. I mean there's no Yara in the books plus Theon isn't there at the time. But I agree that the admitting the kinslaying was kinda stupid. Especially since just in 5 episodes there has already been 3 kinslayings with the destruction of the Martell family, death of Roose + Balon and most turn a blind eye to it.

That said, with Euron, the Greyjoys finally turn into a cool force to be reckoned with on the show. And he has managed to pull out some nice one liner quotes in just 2 episodes. I'll give him a chance. Seems cool so far.

Gotta love Euron's best line: "I want you all to go and find every damn tree you can find. We need every man making planks, all women weaving sails." Like, bruh, haven't you noticed you guys are living on some rocky cliffs without a single tree in sight? If there were ever any trees on the iron islands, Theon and Yara just sailed off with them. 

While he certainly has potential to be a cool character, I'm afraid that the showrunners are simply using him to make the iron islands relevant by tying their whole story into the great and powerful feminazi's, and he'll most likely end up dragon food while his men all become a part of dany's man-slave army so they don't meet the same fate (or they simply do meet the same fate). Like c'mon now... we've got a feminazi leader whose entire army is literally dickless manslaves... sigh.

The character Yara is in the books, but her name is Asha, the show just changed her name so she wouldn't be confused for Osha that wilding girl. She loses the kingsmoot like in the show, and Euron marries her off by proxy but she escapes and is captured by Stannis as he is marching on Winterfell where she is reunited with Theon.
Also where is Eurons eyepatch in the show the one he gets the nickname crows eye from?

I could not appreciate the drama of the ending scene with Bran because nothing makes sense, as always. I mean, the three eyed crow literally said that the White Walkers knew their location and were going to come for them. So what do they do? They go on a fucking vision quest and sleep through the arrival of the White Walkers and start running when the undead are on top of them. Strong planning skills right there. Then the whole "hold the door" moment is super dramatic and all, but instead of the undead being right behind them, Hodor bought them about a 50 meters headstart. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo, I don't see how that is going to matter in any sensible way.

Yes, Game of Thrones is very disappointing these days, let's be honest.

It started out as a show that defied clichés, which was a big part of its appeal. Now it's nothing but a cliché-fest, from story to the cinematography. It's still good, probably the best thing on TV, but it's A) not as good as it was, and B) pissing all the potential it had down the drain.

A show that wants to shock it's audience by defying clichés needs to sometimes also adhere to the clichés. Otherwise you know that every time a main character can die, they will die and the occurrence will no longer shock you.

The death of Ned Stark at the end of season 1 was shocking in many regards because he'd been built up as the protagonist throughout the rest of the season prior to that moment. Much more impactful than if Ned Stark got mugged and his throat slit in the very first episode.

At the moment it's neither a show where:
A) Every time a main character gets into a fight they're guaranteed to live cos main character, nor
B) Every time a main character gets into a fight they're guaranteed to die because gritty.
It is (and always has been) balanced somewhere between the two where main characters are largely main for a reason (charisma, skill, whatever) and are fairly good at surviving by and large, but each episode or fight could still be their last.

What may make the show less satisfying as it continues is the fact they'll run out of ways to shock you (cos rape, incest and bloody death are well-established), or that after years of the show defying conventional clichés it becomes predictable in it's own way.

Agreed. The show has had its ups and downs in the past, and imo the writing isn't outstandingly less remarkable this season when compared to prior seasons. The only thing that "ruined" GoT is its own longevity.
