We earned a shit ton of xp for gen 1 because we would always respec at lvl 26 to avoid paying upkeep. "Until they patched it and made us pay upkeep"

Check out kill 3 -- the lance misses the guy by about 3 feet and he drops dead, lol

The miss directly before kill 3 is a perfect hit that doesn't register

Actually most of the time we don't have to press W (speed of cavalry is constant unless changed).  SOmething you would know if you played cavalry

Horses don't go back to full speed automatically after being slowed down. I personally always hold w or s except when I want a precise cruise speed.
