launcher crashes while updating WSE2 beta

Hi!
Each time I check the WSE2 box, the following happens:
messages:
checking for update
installing update (2 full green bars)
updating WSE2 beta ( xx%) and then it crashes (Windows message: Launcher doesnt work anymore). Percent between 4 and 51

Windows Vista, Widows firewall, antivirus program

Any ideas?
