Did you try changing the animation quality setting?
Okay that is set to low I did the above, what xol told me AND set my max fps to whatever I get  consistently. Turned on Framerate lag thing and the CPU usage and it is now playable.

At the bottom of the graphics tab there are 2 experimental features. Uncheck them both.

I've got everything cranked up as high as it will go and not experiencing the stutters with those turned off.

Dual Core @ 2GHz
Ati 2400
2GB Ram

I can run Battlefield Bad company 2 and Black ops. Comes to DX9 on C-rpg and it's not playable at all, 20-30 fps is dire. Now with the WSE2 update and it's 20-30 fps with lag spikes.

Yes I put it on low, I am also trying this <16:40:37> "Xol": 1) go to Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\
<16:40:46> "Xol": 2) edit crpg_beta_config.ini with notepad
<16:41:05> "Xol": 3) change bOnDemandTextures=true to bOnDemandTextures=false

I tried this and it helped but I still have stutter. Both experimental boxes are off and I turned down fps to 80 along with other graphics options such as rag dolls and bodies/blood.

TRy making your fps max 50, I lowered mine to 40 and works fine, except for large forest maps....

Will do. Maybe another time since I just want to soak up the double xp atm. I can't be assed to switch back to wse2 again for the 4th time today.

Am I the only one that feels everything ran a lot smoothier with stable older WSE?

I'm one of those who always got weird animation lag with new launcher, had the same yesterday.

I will try some more settings later tonight and report back.

We need to find some exotic tweaks and fixes to make us low-end-computer suckers able to enjoy smooth play :)

cRPG still fun though!

I'm going to have to play withOUT the launcher since it for some reason doesn't allow me to play on city maps or areas with dense/lots of trees

Same thing here. I have to stick to playing with the regular launcher since only 1/5 of the maps are playable when I use the WSE2 beta launcher :(

Same thing for me. I could run in directx7 and still have the game be playable. WSE2 has no directx7 support so the game is completely unplayable even with everything as low as possible.

Changing max framerate to lower did help a little. I changed it to 40 and in a duel server by myself I got a consistent 40, but with other people the game is unplayable. The odd thing is that my FPS doesn't seem as bad as it feels, the game is just all jumpy. I'm assuming it's jumpy because of the FPS changes, so that's why setting it lower it fixes it? I don't know, maybe I should go even lower.

Obviously my computer is just terrible, but it's lame that I won't be able to play when I could before.

Using d9 gets my graphic card to heat up to 110c+
Would be perfect if you get wse to work with d7...

Unfortunately we don't have anyone who knows how to work with DX7, so that's unlikely to happen.

People don't realise that DirectX 7 is 12 years old API.
