the WoT hivemind is against changes in general.
I once realized that because the great majority of those 'forum people' already posses a couple tier 8 premium tanks and often have a running premium account, they are no longer able to comprehend how expensive are the 'f2p' gold rounds. They just forgot that the tanks, which sustain their in-game money sink, were bought with real money. And eventually, they end up defending WG's f2p model.
I myself had two tier 8 premium tanks, and I could sustain gold rounds spending, so it's not like I'm arguing against the group that spends money in game. I just always felt like the gold rounds were spoiling the fragile structure of stat balance (which is actually pretty good if you consider using only regular ammo).
I think that in general it is a very clever move from WG, and the company itself perfectly understands how it works.
