How often do people even look at the main posts of faction threads? And how many of those people are outside the faction it belongs to? I am curious.

In Sandersson's defense, updating a faction hall thread is boring. It's not hard, and it's easy to find things to put into it... but unlike other sectors of the forums or actually playing the game or another game or anything else, it's just boring. Adding in details that don't really matter for a post most people probably won't even see... it doesn't even feel productive, and it's a lot like doing homework.
