That's putting it strongly. While the US involvement in WWII was extensive -- as well as expensive (the most expensive war ever), the US would never have been able to invade with the amount of soldiers that they did if not for the Allies. In fact, they would have had to double their invasion forces and consequentially, their death tolls. I will however not deny the fact that the US involvement was
a deciding factor for the victory but not
the deciding factor. And let's not forget that if not for Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbour, the US would have sat on their fat asses claiming "neutrality" while they're fueling the rest of the world with arms, the rest of the world which is at war.
And speaking of the Pacific front, the US were considerably more involved in the war against Japan than on the Atlantic front. Which was understandable since they had pissed the Giant Eagle off -- but it wasn't the "noble sacrifice to save the poor little sods that was Europe" that you are implying.
My post was not really a statement of facts as much as it was an intended insult (which I was warned for, 30%), so calm your horses. I myself am Serbian and Hungarian who lives in Sweden -- so I'm a living, breathing and walking example of European mix-breed. I'm highly eastern European, still. While as, to my imagination, the cultural mix in America is much greater than in Europe simply because of the massive immigration to the New World in the 17th to the 19th century. One example being the "Great" Swedish immigration to America in 1879 when over 100, 000 Swedes immigrated to the US.
Anyway, I will concede that my insult was bigotal and silly. As that was kinda the point of the insult.
