New weather system

Current weather system:
Weather changes over time. If you join strat battle within few seconds after battle start you have one type of weather. If you join later you have another type of weather. This brings great disadvantages to ppl who gets foggy weather when joins the server after weather change. Some people don't saw anything within 10 meters & some ppl had nice sunny day & could shout blind enemies easily.

My suggestion is to bind weather on Strategus to battles, not to the time. So whenever you join the server on particular battle you have same weather.

P.S. Devs could also add weather forecast on the "upcoming battles" page. It could have "unknown" status until there would be only few hours left until the battle start.

Yeah, info tab on the side should have the 'current conditions' which should affect visibility, movement speed and maybe even upkeep.

Certain areas of the map should have different forms of weather, have a rolling seasonal change every months from summer, autumn, winter, spring etc. which brings prevelant weather types (wet/cold/hot/mild).

Example: Snowy lands have high weather effects during the winter months, small effects in spring/autumn and no effect in winter.
Deserts have high weather effects in the winter and summer, but no effect in spring/autumn

Would add a greater strategis element to the game, deciding when to attack certain enemies in certain parts of the map.  Wether to attack immedieately or delay in the hopes of better weather etc.

Cas I like the idea, but may be more complicated than we can ask for (it's a good idea though).  At minimum we need Segd's suggestion...weather needs to be tied to the map and should be universal regardless when you join.  No reason on a 1000+vs1000+ strat battle that some people see thick fog while others see a sunny day...that's ridiculous.

I'd be for this only if the defenders got to make some sort of choice regarding battle conditions. It's just rather silly that the attacker gets to pick every possible condition for the battle, from time to weather. That's an enormous advantage, and historically the defenders are more likely to be able to pick conditions (because of supply lines, terrain knowledge, and a hundred other important factors).

If defenders could, for example, get a veto for a "random" map during setup phase and get a new, more favorable one. Defenders pick where, attackers pick time (and some weather control).

Until then, I can't support this.

if weather cant be normalized to affect all players the exact same all the time, should be scrapped
