Making Money

This is mainly about the marketplace. In order to get a masterwork weapon, you need to retire three times. With 2000 as the average XP per minute, this takes 74 hours (decreasing slightly with each new generation). So, over 200 hours of playing cRPG just to get one item to MW.

That's why I'm wondering if there's any way to make money from messing around with the marketplace. I managed to get a +3 item in exchange for a +1, only to be informed that this is against the rules. So, exploiting bad offers is out. The fact that this rule is hidden away on the forums instead of being visible in the marketplace itself is rather annoying. I was going with the assumption that the marketplace is a cruel world of cutthroat capitalism.

Has anyone managed to make money through trading within the rules? If so, is it something that requires a large amount of money or loom points to begin with? I want to figure out if I should try to make money from it, or just be content to slowly raise the level of my sword. Or even just give the bloody loom points away.

It's possible. There are many ways.

Example:

If you already own a Lordly Heavy / Light Kuyak, you can put it up for another Lordly Light / Heavy Kuyak and 50k gold. That trade isn't rare so there is often someone accepting it. This is actually possible with many items.
Of course that involves money from other guys and you already need a +3 for that.

Another example is buying looms cheap, a +1 for 300k and then sell it for 350k. In the end you make like 30k gold. That is not a lot and it also takes some time until someone probably accepts the deal. Many +1 items are also not worth that way.

In general most people did gold + in the marketplace or have more +3 items than 1/3 generations made. I got 9 +3 items myself + cash after 24 generations. Of course I did some + money each generation but in the end I'm on 1 +3 item, that I "made out of nothing".

Now days it is pretty hard to trade and be successful market jew,but it is not impossible i made 250 000 gold trading, and i lost 70 000 2 days ago because i didn't know the real price of item.
If you don't know how much item worth don't buy it or try to trade,or you will loose money.
I lost one mw item so far trading, but i got 2 loompoints with trading. So it is up to you and ur luck and skill.

Toffey, you seem like a cool guy.
I suggest you join a clan unless you haven't already. Being on your own is harder.
From clan members you will get extra support and help with all kinds of things.

For instance there is an "armoury" from which you can lend items from other clan members (you can't trade them, only use them ingame).
When trading to make profit you will end up with all kinds of items. But thanks to the armoury you can still benefit from heirloomed items of others while playing.

Either way, it is of course easier to make profit the more gold and heirloomed items you have. A lot easier.

The only thing you need to become rich bastard is one +3 item. When you already have it, make 25 offers: your item for another +3 item and 50-100 k gold*. Repeat endless amount of times, become new King Midas.

*ofc when you'll get expensive item, e.g. nordic champ sword, don't sell it for Danish GS and 50 k, but rather demand 200 k on the top of the deal. Currently it is much harder to earn gold on the market than it used to be, but it's still better way than retiring

Most of us are currently living off relatives, friends, parttime-jobs or savings, to be able to work as much and cheaply as possible.
