I think its all ready been said 312423583465 times now that the majority of this community dont endorse the lame gameplay that follows with archers being able to kite all day an not having anyone able to counter him besides other ranged...

The increased weight on arrows actually makes some melee builds able to fight back against archers unlike before where you had to have gimmick builds with tons of ath to even be able to take a swing at one...

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

i do belive that ranged should be melee builds weakness and there for that archers are faster than people in heavier armor witch also make common sense  if you think about also archers dont do that much damage anymore unless they give you a headshot.

and i dont care how many times its been said this aint a debate this is a complaint about how archers are mistreated by the developers compared to other classes just because some 2 handers and polearm guys keep whining about that archers are to strong and to fast they only feel that way because they are str build or mostly str build and frankly being slow without a shield then your asking to get shot by ranged

also its never been melee's job to kill the ranged its been cav and ranged job if you look at how wars was fought back then melee fought melee and got trampled and killed by cav and shot to pieces by ranged YOU bottum of the food chain here as melee live with it, because thats how life was for a foot soldier in medival times that how it is today also for a foot soldier tanks and planes fucking kill you 9 out of 10 times if you meet them so have some realistic sense here, also this is a game meant to be fun for evryone right?

and if melee can catch archers pretty easy and cav just bump them to death then they can actually only fight other ranged and if you guys really want it to be like that then atleast remove or halve the pd/armor penalities so its easier to get accurate shots so we might have  chance at killing melee before the reach us as we can run from them anymore!

IMO the archery nerf and arrow weight increase was necessary. BUT also IMO the weight was increased maybe a little bit too much... I think all the arrows right now should have their weight decreased by 1 to balance the huge nerf.

Most archers can still kite tho so why would you start decreasing the weight  :?:

No melee char could catch archers before. Even when they have 6-7 athletics, they'd have to wear light armor and hope they can dodge well.

Shields made char too slow and were easily shot around.

So, the only counter was cav, ranged, or dead end alleys.

The ability to do damage withought the threat of incoming damage is a huge advantage. This is why so many nerfs and rebalances are in place against such weapons.

Xbow reload and damage
Thrower accuracy and ammo
Archer everything
Pike unbalanced and weight
.......

Notice the trend?

The current situation is still unacceptable. It's no way in hell fair for an archer to be slowed down when fighting in melee, since we already had a crapy melee capability.

I've assumed the devs would fix this in time. It's one thing to put up with the ocasional temp class breaker, but this 'solution' has gone on too long. Find some other way to nerf kiting, (like item weight being only in effect when using said items or something) so when you switch to melee you can move properly.
You(devs) have already GTXed average archers and made near to impossible for new people to try the class with all these efficiency bumps.

Pejlaen suggested a quite drastic drop in movement while drawing the bow but the weight change on arrows reverted. If it would be possible, it sounds better than the current situation where archers are gimped in melee to stop the kiting (unless they continuously drop the bow to melee)
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

Not really, they'd just sheath their bow, kite for longer, shot, then run off.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

FFS stop running around rambo style and learn to teamplay. Get somebody to cover your ass and you'll be fine when attacked by melee. There are enough players in this mod willing to teamplay, learn to use that.

FFS stop running around rambo style and learn to teamplay. Get somebody to cover your ass and you'll be fine when attacked by melee. There are enough players in this mod willing to teamplay, learn to use that.

That would be nice if true. Alas we can only relly on ourselfs.
