Ah yeah I know this game, seen it while browsing the internet a while ago. Still looks very raw but I'm keeping my eyes on this.

actually what I dream about these days is m&b+h&h+aoe2, ie gradual progession of technology. so server would have a period of bronze age etc.

It looks pretty bad at the moment (graphics aren't one of my top few concerns in game, but can usually represent other aspects of how fart a project is at the moment).  I have high hopes for this game, and look forward to seeing it progress.

hmm there was a survey/sign up for alpha like a year ago, but I think they also just picked up people off the forums. very tiny community on there.

They're sure to do a beta when its ready tho.

hmm I curious about M:E theres not really any actual info on it, and what I remember from the announcement didn't sound that much like H&H to me. I'm hyped for both M:BG & LiF, but I don't think M:E is going to be anytime soon.

1) Permadeath

• There will be permadeath in the game
• perma killing will "probably" require a skill/perk to do
• perma killing will have less financial benefit than normal killing
• normal killing will effectively be knocking someone unconscious and after a certain amount of time they will respawn at their "home"
• exact loot rules to be confirmed
• their may be further consequences to perma killing players

2) Alts and Mains

• Epic characters will not be connected in any way to characters from other Melee: Battlegrounds modes
• Alts will be playable and unlimited alongside mains
• your main will be the head of the family
• if your main dies you can select a new main from your alts
• All characters will be part of the same family using the same home
• playing with a char will generate xp for your entire family but the more alts you have the lower this xp will be
• Alts in offline mode will work near your home to gather resources

3) Homes/Land ownership

• Each tile will have one main owner
• They can however sell areas of land within their tile to other individuals
• Everybody is free to build on their land according to what they can afford and defend

4) Politics

• There will initially be 2 opposing factions
• The number of faction may increase later though
• Each faction will have a King
• How you become king is unknown
• Kings can give out titles - presumably this is how tile ownership is granted
• Kings can tax their Lords who can in turn tax their vassals
• Players can choose not to pay their taxes and it is up to the King/Lord how these players are dealt with (if at all)

5) War

• Lords can launch attacks against enemy settlements using soldiers
• soldiers are non player characters that can be taken over by players in order to fight in major battles without having to travel with a char to that battle
• There is no risk of permadeath whilst using a soldier
• Battles and soldiers will be accessible through barracks buildings in each settlement
• Players can also choose to use their own chars in battle and there will perks for doing this alongside the risk of perma death
• Perks include increased endurance vs soldiers - reduced damage at a guess
• There will also be special leadership boosts for surround troops - no info on their exact nature

6) The map

• The overall map will be made up of a grid of individual map tiles
• Each map can only be accessed from adjacent maps at their corresponding edges

7) Economy

• There will be raw materials to collect/harvest/mine/chop - no info on how
• These raw materials can then be converted into goods - no info on how
• Raw materials and goods can be sold/traded to other players - presumably this means each player will automatically consume raw materials/goods or they will have perks
• There will be a reason for trading over distances - presumably this means certain raw materials/goods will only be created in certain areas

Collection of materials will most likely be through proxies or AI hired by players, if I were to judge on what has been shared so far.

Thanks for posting I hadn't seen that, its really interesting, still sounds nothing like H&H tho. I don't mean that's a bad thing, it really will be "epic" if they pull all that off.
