That is already how it works... at least for xbows, and I could have sworn that for archers to..... hence why people slow down to shoot far...
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

Confirmation, as I am currently a lvl 30 HA, halfway to 31. Depending on your Horse Archery skill (I hear HA4 keeps it small, but I have HA3), the reticule does, indeed, get larger if you're moving at anything faster than a walk-speed trot.

They're already pretty worthless as it is, unless, like EVERY THING ELSE, they put the time and effort to build it correctly. Even then, they're more of a nuisance. I demand that all weapons with edges be blunted, and spikes and other pointy objects have padding on the tips, and all punches be reduced to giggle inducing slaps!

Don't think HAs need an accuracy nerf to be honest.

It is not accurate at 5 HA according to my experiences and those few others who tried HA 5. HA 4 is completely dodgy unless you are trot shooting, which mostly misses the point of even adding any, since you want to be accurate enough to act as mobile fire support that can keep up with friendly cav and shoot down some horses, and accuracy is horrible when you are moving at the speeds needed to keep up with the enemy cav. Mind you these are pure builds, both horse archer and horse crossbow.

HA 4 allows a strong bow and for one to kite some infantry while shooting while trotting, but accuracy goes down fast when moving faster. HA5 only allows a dinky nomad which can barely hit a horse while moving at fastish speeds, and needs many arrows to kill a heavy or champion horse unless you really pull off those horse headshots.

Has OP played HA a lot? If yes, can you share your experiences? Would love to hear some tips on being so accurate while moving.

kongxinga, HA and HC balance:

Pure HA build:

Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)

Power Draw: 5
Power Throw: 0

Uses bow - that makes him shoot fast and far. On the other hand, has only 4ha and can't be really accurate at full speed - unlike HC. Deals cut dmg, that might be bad, but since he has 5PD and 170 wpf, he doesn't bounce off too often, because both wpf and pd increases dmg and basic accuracy (basic accuracy here means: accuracy when standing still) ;)
Can wear heavier armors. Has more hp.
He can't ride too fast and is less manouverable than HC.

Pure HC build (and everything else is NOT pure HC build, because there is NO point in going for "pure" HC if you are not planning to get 5ha - because without 5ha you can't beat HA in anything. Without 5ha you are just a hybrid HC/lancer or whatever ;) ):

Uses crossbow - that makes him shoot slow (but 190 wpf makes it a bit faster  :twisted:) and on short distances. On the other hand, has 5HA and his accuracy is same, either he is riding courser at full speed or stands still. Deals pierce dmg - but from what I heard WPF has no influence on crossbows dmg (I don't really believe it...) so, unlike archer, he won't be able to deal higher dmg than his weapon deals.
Can wear only REALLY light armors. Has less hp.
He can ride really fast and is more manouverable than HA.

Yes these are pretty much the pure builds. First is the strongbow HA which is often used for trot shots, 2nd is the pure horse crossbow. I agree that if you are not going for the delicious HA5 there is no point in calling yourself a HC, especially if one wastes points in ill advised stuff like athletics. I would quibble and take that 2 PS and convert it into additional strength or athletics, but only my own preference. HC has good armour piercing punch too.

One can also try a HA 5 with nomad build, PD 3, HA 5, WM 8, ride 7, and it shoots ok ish at top speeds, but if you can't land headshots it is pretty pointless since the damage is very low, and cost effective half plate armours negate the damage entirely. Does ok against the HA4 if one forces him into a high speed duel, but if he lands a lucky shot or two on you its curtains. 

Have you seen the new formula by Paul? For archery at least WPF increases damage by 15% every 100 points. One only gets full damage at wpf 100, with additional bonus beyond that. I wonder if this applies to crossbows.

HA is incredibly nerfed, if anything we need some love. Not pre patch uberness...but we get huge penalties, even though we have to spend skill points on a skill no body else uses. (besides mounted ranged). And even if someone goes pure HA, we dont get enough damage to kill things fast (like from war and long bow), so most of our "kills" are 'stolen' by other players that do more damage...even if we have been chasing a target half way accross the map....

Cris... it's called teamplay, not "stealing kills".

It's team game. If you cry, because your teammate helped you in killing someone, go away.

Both HA and HC are perfectly balanced. If you let HA with 5 Power Draw (bleh, even with 4 Power Draw) to have 5HA, you can actually forget about HC - they will be useless.
