hello my gear cost without gloves is 23k. when i add heavy gauntlets it goes up to 39k and this gauntlets are eating my gold.
I don't want to sell them because they are so awsome, but i am afraid i will loose all gold i have.
So how much gear cost i can have to still make money?
I tried 33k so far,and i still earned some gold. You tested it over that?

sell those gauntlets to me and if u have constant high multi you can easy run around in expensive stuff

good question mate

I checked the "statistics" in the player account management screen recently. There, it shows how much xp,gold etc your character received over the last weeks. It needs some notes from yourself though, to know which day you went in with full gear, light gear etc.

Its just a guess,  but I think the more single items you wear the more expensive it gets as the potential for repairs increases.
For example: a shield and a spear cost less upkeep than a shield, a spear AND a an additional 1h weapon etc etc.
just play just play just play just play just play

in the long run

This. 35k is probably safe if you don't:
  • Use expensive melee weapons without having any melee wpf
  • Use ranged weapons, because projectiles break twice as often
But, the variance is still very high in the short term. You need to play for many, many hours with the same gear to have a reasonable expectation that it will average out to what the math says should happen. If you can't afford to wait for the long term, then use cheaper gear. Or you can sell a loom point to build up your bank roll.

Heavy gauntlets are killing you dude, gonna have to pay up if you wanna wear those, they are incredibly expensive.

Once you get past 35-40k you really needa be scoring above average multiplier (so rolling with a winning clan or getting a lot of valor) to make money.

My equip cost is 43.5k (3k upkeep max), and I pretty much break even. This is despite using two stacks of Heavy Throwing Axes every round with only 100wpf in throwing, and only playing siege (which is supposedly not as good for making money). I only get Valor about 5-10% of the time.

I need to stop bringing the throwing axes on siege attack, or at least only bring one stack, but I always forget. They rarely come in useful when attacking, unless an archer is kiting me. But man, are they fun on siege defense.

If you have a fair-sized pool already, and can deal with a bad day here and there, you should be able to break even into the 30k region.

Last gen I wore a haubergeon, kettle helmet, rus cav boots, plate mittens, italian sword, elite cav shield, destrier, and heavy lance and made about 50k on the gen.

Yeah, there is a huge gap between hourglass or even plate mittens. I personallly like plate mittens for the look so I use those, but.they are on the expebsive side, more for the look then the arnor/price.

Good choice. Heavy gauntlets are a luxury (except for pugilists, who require them). Scale Gauntlets are my personal favorite, since they are the highest armor choice before the slope of the armor vs. weight curve increases.
