Heh. In Ninjas we have a custom title called Monkey Blood which required you to beat chimp in a duel and he must admit that he was beaten fairly. This is me getting it in fall 2010:

I sympathise with your sentiment but I don't think cRPG is "nearing" its "end days". We are still a very young community.

And don't put too much hope into things that don't exist yet.

Everything was better back then. Some shit were overpowered but to be honest.

Machinegun Pierce Bow and Arrows that shoots fast as fuck + Plated Charger epic tincans and lvl 40+ players and Bec with knockdown much stronger Sniper Xbow etc etc. It all balanced eachother out by being equally as OP

I wouldn't say it was balanced, I would say that balance didn't matter that much since everybody was having fun regardless.

Everyone was so bloody addicted that they thought they were having fun. Now when they sobered up they're suddenly not having fun anymore but instead whining and crying about every single thing there is to be whined & cried about out there.
Do you honestly think you have any sort of moral authority, Reyiz? Go genocide some more armenians and deny it ever happened, please, and stay in the middle east.

Exactly, having only started playing cRPG in december 2010 (I would have tried cRPG quicker if it didn't have such a stupid name, which did not at all encourage me to click it) I am well aware that the system was crap. I reached lvl 22 before the upkeep patch while there were people that were lvl 46 with 250 wpf. Yet I had a lot of fun, spent a lot of my time with a pike watching out for TheFinn, who used to bumprape entire teams. I was helping the team if I managed to stop him and allow my lvl 40 buddies to actually damage the horse.

Lack of balance does not mean you can't have fun. You just have to set proper goals for yourself that are attainable and worthwhile.

I sympathise with your sentiment but I don't think cRPG is "nearing" its "end days". We are still a very young community.
Lots of old players are leaving, while the amount of new players coming in is rather low. When is the last time that you had to wait to get into EU_1? The gameplay is becoming stale for a lot of people. I for one still enjoy the core mechanics and there are still quite a lot of classes and builds that I haven't played enough yet, but from what I hear around me that isn't the case for a lot of others.

A big problem to me is the increase in average blocking skill combined with a relatively low game speed compared to Native. Kicks, crushthrough, ranged and longspears will only ever get more useful.

Eu1 has 200 players max now  Occasionally there's still over 120 players. It's natural that some peple don't play one game forever. Also theres lots of new players, but not many of them stay long. Something could be done to get them a little easier start, so they would not leave immediately after being crushed by tincans

Oh yes, that is true, haven't seen 120 players for a while though.

Maybe that is just me, but if I join a mod that has leveling and character customization and I get my butt kicked by some dudes in fancy armor with fancy moves, that will only encourage me to keep playing and get to that point myself. I don't think that has that much of negative effect on new players, it is a competitive game after all. I'd say there is just not a lot of new players at all due to the game being kinda obscure and the 'Native players switching to cRPG' source having been depleted.
