Also, Warband is hard to start because it's not another-generic-FPS where 90% of your knowhow from other games applies.

There's already a perfectly viable grind-free way to play the game - play an STF. I don't find that looms make a huge difference for melee players (aside from 1h looms). With the current respec system, you can completely change your build any time you get bored.

Dont forget not to STF your main though, as you cannot respec more than once then and neither trade any items but looms (and neither gold), to other characters.

It often takes me 2-3 months to get from level 1 to 31 to retire. Because the grind completely throws me off the track of enjoyment. But that's just me.

Agree with OP, the grind should go. Personalisation and the many game improvements are the reasons to play this mod, fuck the grind, fuck the heirlooms, fuck the king.

yes, having an even playingfield is much better, but native is retarded.
the reason most ppl play this mod is because you can have ur own playing style with ur own builds

if the old experience was too ez, then put a level cap on it, or encourage retiring more...

STF is a way to do it, but when u STF, u have nothing to look forward to anymore.. you'll never levelup
it shouldn't be called Skip the fun, but skip the pain!

another reason i play this mod its becuz of its depth of skill level and gameplay mechanics.
as you're talking about shooters, for example on CSS; giving a newbie a deagle gives him a chance to kill someone, but that still doesn't allow him to kill a high skilled player, what you have here is that the newbies SUCK, and Must play with a glock against a high skilled player with a deagle...

it's like capitalism! :p

So don't grind and don't retire. Main char and STF alt, that's all what you need. If you want to gain looms use light gear (every melee class can do perfectly fine with really cheap stuff) or use marketplace.

Also, I have nothing against faster gaining xp and gold by first gen. Removing lvls and heirlooms could kill mod as many ppl are addicted to grinding.

Ugh, newborn babies are such NOOBS. They have no chance. Let's just give them suits and jobs and be done with it.
