Bec De Corbin with a shield

As it stands, the bec is more or less unused. I suggest giving it the ability to be used as with a shield, so you can be a bad hoplite. I assume the counterpoint that some people will argue is teh weight of the item, since the awlpike is the same weight and it lost its ability to be used with a shield, but I don't really think that is very relevant.

Yeah, it would just be able to thrust. If you want to swing a bec with a shield and 1h prof you can just use a warhammer.

I doubt this change would cause people to use the bec as their hoplite weapon, but more so you can put some points in shield as to not die to range while still being able to attack.

This makes sense. One can use a bec on horse so why wouldn't it be usable with a shield ? Silly suggestions anyway, it's a terrible cav weapon, and it would be a terrible hoplite weapon.

A longsword is makes for a terrible one hander, but you are still able to use it with a shield in game.

Like a year or two ago, yes. You would still see people use them occasionaly up until polestagger was removed. I guess all the polearm users learned euro-footwork and as such just S-key with longer polearms like the glaive or GLB.

I still say make it 1h prof with 1h animations, when you hit x. Give it.....88 length and reduced speed/damage.

I'm just saying it would be the first cool polearm/1h crossover. Which currently do not exist, yet make the most sense for a pole/1h hybrid than 2h/1h.

Maybe some the axes next?

I agree. It'd make an interesting addition to the mod. Maybe only hold it half way up the handle?
Hooray for customization and hybridization!

Hoplite weapons would be better because why would you want it as a 1h?  For the same price you could just use the Pick and what build or situation would this be a good thing?.  As a hoplite weapon it makes the most sense I think.  Very "meh" stab, expensive, but would give you the ability for 1v1.  With out polestun the approved hoplite weapons kinda suck bad.

You can also hoplite with a longsword

I dunno why people stopped using bec it still has nice stats, a +3 has 37 pierce that's same a morningstar but with 1 more speed and 40 more length! I was trying a +3 one with my 15/24 spearman and having no probs killing tincans even tho I only have 5 PS.
