I am just hoping that they will change the entire multiplier/upkeep system to something which actually achieves real balance, and not some kind of fake balance through either temporarily limiting the use of OP items (which doesn't make them any less OP in the moment they are used), and/or nerfing too strong items that heavily that there is only little use in using them (plated armour, armoured horses...), as different viability limits choices, and this is not a sign of balance.
To further extend my reputation of a broken record: Some time ago I suggested a system where equipment value was bought with a skill. So players could either have good skills and bad equipment, or poor skills and great equipment, or something in between those extremes. Such a system would remove the need of creating items of varying viability and "artificially" encourage the usage of good, but not best items, like what we have now.
With such a system you could not only ride your dear plated charger as long as you want, the horse would actually be worth something. You would just have to pay it with incredibly bad character stats, limiting a full plated rider on a plated charger to something like 3 or 6 AGI or the like, keeping things balanced and yet different and entertaining. And I don't think that you would have too many plated chargers, even with this system.
