It's really getting on my nerves now... I head for one village for almost one day just to have S&D = 0 when I arrive. Another day wasted for nothing. What is this shit...  :evil:

Because I don't want to sit around for 24 hours, doing nothing? And if I don't check every hour the next one hopping in before me grabs the new S&D and I can wait another 24 hours...

I'm not totally against S&D, but with the current implementation a lot of towns are down to zero all the day.

I agree that S&D regeneration needs to be tweaked...

Atm it regenerates so fucking slow even with only like 25% of the cRPG players really digging into it, some areas are commercialy dead as soon as more than half a dozen people actively trade.

You shouldn't be able to click on a fief 150,000 meters away and see how much S&D it has.  That's the problem.

That's why S&D is depleted so regularly (if you don't keep it on lock down).  You should have to be within "seeing" ranges to see the stats of a fief (like in strat 3).  If you want to trade far, far away, send a crow and discuss it with the far away fief lord and discuss diplomacy.

Or send scouts to scout out the map. 

It seems like it's working perfectly to me.

Want more S&D?   Put more prosperity into the fief.  Don't want to lose S&D?  Don't let randoms buy and sell there.  Click on a fief that's 75,000 meters away and has 1000 s&d now, but 0 in 24 hours?  Tough shit, you're lucky you could see it from 75,000 meters anyways.

I still think they need to stop broadcasting the fief information to anyone, anywhere on the map.  Just seems really fucking ghetto compared to strat 3.

Removing S&d will make that we have infinite resources, thus infinite gold (everything plated chargers tincans and caravans of tenthousands of goods).

If you want to remove S&D, you have to come with an alternative.

The basic amount of tradegoods i have on me is 1500. I never keep it on me more then a day after reaching my destination, i always get to sell it. Its all about picking the good fief to sell in.

If you removed S&D from the map, it would seriously slow down gold coming into economy if people were wasting days travelling to zero S&D fiefs and then having to guess a new one. Would hurt independants more than mercantile clans also.

Also, the current period is relatively peaceful, there's abit more banditry on EU, but no heavy warfare. Almost no banditry on NA, and no major wars either, so it's very easy to trade. Once things heat up, less people will be trading, people will be closer to their lands with armies, and also juicy caravans will be hunted down and picked off, so there should be more S&D on map.

Finally, go smuggler and poach S&D off hoarders who "close borders". If you have 200-300 heavily armed troops, and carrying less than 300-420 goods, even large factions will hesitate to attack you. You will cost a lot more to rub out than the value of your goods, which weakens them vis a vis their real enemies. The fact that you have a decent amount of well armed soldiers will make you attractive to mercs also.

UHHHH, no!  We will attack you regardless.  We don't want to set up a trend or pattern of people stealing our shit and we will attack each and every person that tries to take our S&D.  Regardless we will use it all up within a week just with our own trading anyway so by the time you get there it will be 0 or close to 0 for you anyway.  STAY OUT OF FCC TERRITORY WITHOUT A TRADING AGREEMENT/PRIOR APPROVAL!!!


P.S.  Between stealing your goods and also the bonus of being able to sell our own long-distance goods in that fief you were planning to steal S&D from and getting 50% of your gear at end of battle - more than compensation enough for attacking you even if we would anyway as a deterrent against other would-be robbers.

The operation of defeating you and losing 250+ heavily armed troops (assuming 1:1 ratio) will cost over 40k which hurts even big factions like FCC. The goods they take off you if they succeed (worth 15-20k) doesn't come close to recouping their battle costs.

Yeah... but if they attack you at shitty times like early in the morning where no one is willing to fight you may lose everything because they just cap your flags.  :?
And recovering back at where you are takes 1 or 2 weeks just getting your troops back.

I actually like the base idea of S&D, but if you look at the center of EU, ALL towns in there are down. And the border territories are all protected by some big clans who don't let you in, because you "steal" their precious S&D.

Really good points in all the posts, im starting to think that everything will even itself out when things heat up a bit more, like Turbloflex said!

But truely, atm its really hard to find good villages to trade, even with infinite information range on all the places :P Its kind of a war down there! But the only victim is our patience :lol:

Kesh is very serious about locking down territory.  FCC will waste resources to make sure they aren't fleeced in the future.

Make lords able to control what % of goods get sold for what TAX.

Decrease bonus range of goods and disable being able to see goods across the map.

Give trade cartographers something to do.
