I looked around a lot, and after a month of not finding any official word I sent a PM to chadz with no response.
IRC don't count as official word, as everyone wont be seeing it.
So could we have any word, please?

Wat? It's textures and models. I'd call "usage without permit" at least as serious super douche baggery. Dunno about the legal things considering models and textures though.

That's true, but within a game, different mods and sub-communities just slander the ones that use your work without permission. In that sense, it's just as bad.

Regardless, they said it's open source so those chinks can suck deez nuts. I'm still thankful for the models, but if they're gonna be greedy...!

Well, they can't do shit, still it's fucked up as hell to use their work if they disapprove and it ain't right, and saying that just 'cause the only thing that'd happen would be cRPG getting slandered doesn't make it a less fucked up thing to use their work if they say no.

And even if they didn't give their permission. I just want to throw in that this mod is a conversion of the 1257ad mod, and those Chinese modders didn't have the permission to use the 1257ad files either.

I don't say we should steal their models and textures, because two wrongs don't make a right, but if somebody did that to them, they would have to shut the fuck up.

Good point but I have the impression that the donkey crew always likes to ask for the permission or use textures and models which are stated to be free to use. It's polite and you won't get sucked into Taleworlds Forum drama too badly that way . I think it's the right way to do it. Open source or not.

Just let some other mod do that for lulz
