for the camel i think it should be better armored than a horse but slower(just like in RL) and ofcourse some lower tier camels wouldn't have armor. also the feet of a camel are longer than those of a horse so it would be harder to hit someone from foot, and the head also is higher than that of a horse so you can't really pike someone of the camel like you can with a horse. do you sit on the bump, in fornt of the bump or behind the bump on the camels back? because if you sit in front of the bump it would also protect you a bit in your back. this also means that onehander from camel would work less good than form a horse but lances would work better. you would also swing more around from a camels back than form a horse so more difficult to hit woth arrows, bolts and throwing weapons.

about the elephants i think they should be faster than everyone is saying because elephants can run 50km/h which is about 32m/h. ofcourse these elephants are armored, but also in a war spirit wich makes adrenaline and makes them faster. for the damage i think elephants should have a couching mode that puts their heads down and lets their tusks to the ground. this is probably hardcode but someone can give it a try if they want. if this is not possible(probably) i think they should have a good amount of charge damage so you can accually use that as a weapon. and not a dirty HA trick.
my questions are:
will a stab to the chest stop it(cuse cmon would it stop an elephant?)
and how will you get of the elephant?
notes:
for the camel i think a new animation is required for the swinging on a camel.
maybe to balance camels make a chance that they suddenly prance(for it is a stubern animal)
