As you can see, besides the marginal price difference, which when choosing between these wouldn't make an argument, the only thing differently is the weight and the style.

Either make both the same price and the same weight or change the stats of these items so there is a need to make a real choice. If i would minimax i would go here for the Padded Leather anytime.

Padded leather weighs less for the same armour rating, I think that the price is just right, actually.

If we start changing things to the same stats and price then we end up with "armour tiers", which I don't believe would be helpful to the mod in general.

weight has actually effect on the game play, while prices are just a factor of upkeep. Both may seem marginal but also may add up. It may have just to do that i like the Tribal Warrior more and would like it to have less weight but well you can't have it all can you. Still it confuses a bit when you go through the Body armor list, everything is equally sorted by price and weight and then you come to these 2 and it is kind of reversed.

There's a ton of examples like this, many items of same weight don't have same stats.
