Ohh common, Gothic 3 wasnt that bad. Or im just saying it cause I played Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods expansion. Which was 5 times worse. Was so unfinished that you couldnt even finish the main guest without shitloads of patching. Thank god Jowood went bankrupt. They made some hardcore crap in their final  years.

Btw Miwiw, you mentioned Cossacks. Know any way to make em run on todays PCs? Cause sofar ive tried to run Cossacks in atleast 4 PCs. I never got it to run. :(

That game looks awesome, how come i've missed it all this time!?!

Shitload of quality games came out in year 2000.

Few months later Blade of Darkness came out and most people forgot about Rune.

I played and enjoyed both games. Blade of Darkness had better melee system (it was best melee combat until M&B/Demon Souls came out) but Rune had better level design and much more interesting story.

13th warrior came out a year before Rune and I was watching that movie a lot back then. I was so happy that I could finally play proper H&S game with viking background. It's true viking game, not bullshit like Skyrim.

Dark Souls is a mix of Blade of Darkness (melee combat and difficulty) and Rune (level/monster design) and Castlevania games.

That's a good question. I can try on my pc if you like. Win 7 Dual Core 64 Bit.

Afaik I played a Cossacks game on my laptop before (Win 7 i3 CPU 2,4 GHz 64bit) without any problems. Installed over steam.

I'm also having the retail version for all 3 Cossacks 1 games, so I can try that with those (no download yay!). I'll check this weekened. :)

Blades of Darkness looks awesome. I never noticed it before. I got super addicted by Rune around 2004 or something and then I played it non-stop until I found M&B in 2006.

I still like to play a bit of Rune once in a while though. I recently completed the campaign for like the third time.

Stronghold 1, Stronghold Crusader.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

Let me enlighten you, grasshopper. Fallout 2 is cool because it's a nonlinear, nonclassbased kickass postnuclear computer roleplaying game with a high replayabillity value. Fallout 2 allows you to play your character the way you want. If you want to play a goodie-two-shoes, you can. If you want to play an evil bastard, you can (Yes, you really can hit children in the groin with a sledgehammer). If you want to play a moron who can hardly talk because of his low intelligence, you can.

Yep Fallout 1 & 2 are classics. If you haven't played Planescape: Torment yet then thats something you should play at some point, if you like stories and can spend some time reading. One of the best games ever imo

I know JRPG's get some general negativity, but some of them have decent stories (but a ton of fighting too). FF7, FF9, FF10 etc. Just get an emulator and you can play them on your PC..ff7 has a pc version too (and 8, but I never really got into that one). Get an engine mod for 7 if you use the pc version and the use original PS sounds

Regarding adventures, I liked the Broken Sword series, and if you don't mind old graphics then get all the original Lucas Arts ones. The Telltale ones are OK, but I don't think episodic adventures are for me really. I like the old 2d style adventures. Theres some decent adventures around if you browse sites like AdventureGamers you will find plenty

For multiplayer, you could try GW2, League of Legends etc, Darkfall maybe (well wait for 2.0 then look into it). Fps games are kind of boring to me now. I picked up cs go which is alright I suppose. Can't stand modern popular fps games like cod..don't want Origin or any EA fps game tbh. So not much choice in terms of FPS's atm. Was hoping RO2 would spark my interest in FPS games again but that was very disappointing compared to Ostfront
