the archer can shoot their feet and just keep kiting

I'm gen 11 lvl 31 archer all the time and i never shot a shielder to his foot when he was facing me with his shield. I tried to do that many times (about one big caravan of arrows)

I shot only few low level players carrying no reqierment shields but never a true shielder

All that said, I'm not terribly fond of comparing things like this, as there are always exceptions and "what if"s. My real complaints here are #1, shielders don't counter archers any more than a 2H hero, and #2, archer kiting is boring as hell.

I disagree. 2h (actually, anyone without a shield) is a better (not equal) counter to archers than a guy with a shield. A shield only protects; to kill them you must attack. Dodging is way more effective then.

I totally agree with you. Shielders are good for keeping archers busy but better for killing them are ppl who know how to dodge arrows (and it's not so hard until one archer is aiming at you) and have no shield.
Of course there are lot of running hi ath archers (some of them didn't even have a side weapon) who are unable to catch for most melee. In that way you'll have to ask your teammate ranger or cav to kill him and don't show him your face until you have a shield

non strat archery is almost useless with any low tier bow, any archer build with less than 25 levels, and any nonloomed archer's stuff.

Little reminders:
1. You can be effective as xbower from 15 level
2. You can be effective as 2H from  18-20 level
3. Low tier throwing stuff is quite fun and effective.
4. Low tier melee weapons is devastating in hands of any skilled player. Shortened military scythe, maul, fauchard, even simple dagger for agishielder = great weapons with tiny repairs.

So no, non strat archery is not ok.

Cup1d all you said is truth and I agree with you. My archery bulit is finished on lvl 29, and on that lvl i can be usefull in battle (I'm using longbow).
Leveling up with an archer is pain in ass, and this class is the most hated one and gets nerf in every single ocassion.
Low tier bows are piece of shi*, IMO they actually can remove all bows below tatar bow, because they are just waste of time.

But if you want to bee deadly you are forced to use 5 and 6 PD bows because they can hurt enemies.
I go for hi lvl because only hi lvl archer can give lots of fun from playing it, I just get annoyed of constantly lvl up to 31 and retire when i started to kill enemies, not only pesants.
Dmg delivered by archers is preety balanced atm except op rus bow (IMO they should make it just a bit slower)

You should compare archery in strat to normal one and you will know what i mean when i say "Non strat archery is ok atm"
