So I got a message from Fallen_Ramses about him maybe lending a server.
Although it's not set in stone yet, the Fallens have plenty of good EU servers where an NA player can get a ping
under 175 (Which is good for EU servers).
So now that we (probably) have a server. So begins the discussion of official rules and regulations. Once these are setup the Events topic will be posted.
First, we'll need some marshals and plenty of contestants. Just post in this topic if you're interested.
Marshals should have a fairly good connection and be able to work with people. Each marshal will "claim" an event (You can create your own event too, if you can get contestants). Some larger events will have multiple marshals. Also, we're going to need a couple of rotating cameramen. 30 fps filming a 480p video on high quality is sufficient.
If we really get going I might ask nditions to loan me a room in the TeamSpeak.
Secondly, here are the possible events so far.
EVENTS:
- Obstacle Course
- 100m Dash
- Baton (Torch) Relay*
- The Gauntlet**
- Wood Chopping^
- Distance Throw
- Arrow/Xbow Accuracy Contest^*
- The Joust
- Free Joust^^
- Fencing Tourney
- Boxing
- Interclan Skirmish
*Three players on each team -- Drop the baton to pass it -- Get it to the finish first
**Armor of choice -- Must survive archery onslaught (6x archers with Khergit Bows + Norm. Arrows)
^Two+ players try to chop down their door first with a weapon of choice
^* One at 25ft, One at 100ft
^^ 1 vs. 1, Dehorsing counts as a kill.
If we get things rolling right we could start this shit up May 1st or the weekend closest to that. Maybe it could take place various weekends near then (Christians get easter break soon).
This is gonna be mostly marshal-run (if it happens) However I get to sit in the fancy throne, mmkay?
