Bodkin arrows?

I'm just starting out and I'm running an archer build, but the "best" (most expensive) arrows are bodkin arrows. By the looks of the stats the tatar arrows have them beat in every way besides weight. Am I mistaken or is there some secret to bodkin arrows that make them worth it?

Bodkins are the best. BUT you won't really be making any money if you have them on. If you choose to have bodkins keep your total gear cost under 25k then you might save couple Ks in the long run.

I can't even imagine having a 25k repair cost... I've read around here a bit and heard you had to keep your armor weight under 10 or you get a wpf penalty, so that cuts down the repair costs a lot.

The 25k they are mentioning isn't that you would lose 25k gold in a single round, it's the gold cost of your equipment.  I don't think it's even possible to have to pay 25k in repairs for a round.

But as others mentioned, bodkins are expensive (352 gold to repair) and break often, so while their pierce damage makes them the best in most cases tatars are a good cheaper alternative.

this.
User tatars until you have 50k gold to float on IMO. then use bodkins. For me, light armor + longbow + 2 bodkins = very small gain in gold, mostly just breaking even.

If that is only 11k I don't think it is possible to get a 25k repair bill...

I have found that bodkins are the best overall because of the pierce damage. It allows you to actually do damage to higher value targets. If you can't afford bodkins, I usually go with barbed because they are relatively cheap but can still dish out a bit of a punch.
You don't need to ban or anything just for future reference or something because he's rude to me.
