I will play on the NA server.

I support a splitting of the maps.  It's a numbers issue, if EU and NA had similar populations I'd be fine with keeping it together, but as it is EU side has more land, which means they have better trade routes (although we'll see how that plays out next strat) which means they have more resources, which means NA side gets overpowered.

Not to mention no one enjoys high ping & early AM battles ever.

What you say is of course understandable, but if there will be any two separated maps, what's your preference: artificial wall or selectable server? Please note that separated maps practically means splitted community and forum. This is a drawback. Despite various problems, I definitely prefer a larger community rather than two smaller ones as you suggest.

Selectable server is the worst possible option.  Well, except randomized server choice, or Aussie server only or anything purposefully terrible.

I agree with you.  I don't mind the artificial wall.  Nobody is forcing you to fight on the other side of the wall (well other than what happens in the world map).  BUT (and nothing someone says before the but really counts ) if there were two separate maps, it would still be like an artificial wall, but using a sea as the divider, and people would be able to cross the sea.  I even suggested a while back the possibility of pirates on the seas, and sea battles, which chadz apparently liked.  But I think that's down the road (if ever) so I don't see the two separate worlds as happening.

This poll is not very reliable (Total Members Voted: 484 - it's not too much). For example in my clan (more than 150 members), only a few people read this forum. I think Americans have a much higher turnout here (whole forum in their native language), therefore I believe that result 64.5% to 35.5% is detrimental for Europeans.

I think that relying on such data to build a new artificial wall is pointless. It is better to use a different mechanism, and you know what I suggest as the best solution

Yeah... about 90% of my clan doesnt even come onto the forums, doubt many have voted. There has to be a better way to determine this

Two polls and the result is almost eerily similar even with the difference in vote counts.(half of that one). I'd say we have a VERY good idea of  how many people play strat and use the forums. Those are the people that matter. Not the hundreds of others who play cause they like the battles.

Checking how many people you have in each strategus faction could give the developer a very good idea of how many player you have in NA and EU, but its harder to take account of the international clan
