Elegant Poleaxe ideas

It's true; the Elegant Poleaxe could use a buff.
I was thinking any combination of; increase the speed by 1, increase the secondary mode damage by 3 (why is it so weak lol?) or... something else. I don't know; it just seems lacking.
After all, it is the most expensive polearm in the game and there are quite a few that are better in a lot of ways.
Comment with your ideas here please!

The Elegant Poleaxe not being the best-in-class item of its type despite being the most expensive is not something unique to polearms alone, bro.

The Flamberge is not the best 2h.
The Long Espada is not the best 1h.
The Long Bow is not the best bow.
The Plated Charger is not the best horse.
The Arbalest is not the best xbow.

Just like the Elegant Poleaxe, all of them are specialist weapons that players seeking something specific that's not offered by generalist weapons like the Greatswords or Italian will gravitate towards--and that's how it should be. If they were the best weapons hands down, then everyone with enough money to use them would use them and the diversity that makes cRPG combat interesting would go the way of the Dodo. No one wants that.

Change it from mighty to masterwork when looming.

Agree, but

Flamberge is most damaging weapon in category
Arbalest is most damaging weapon in category
Plated charger is most damaging horse in category
Longbow is most damaging weapon in category...

I'm sure that German poleaxe or simple Poleaxe is definitely better than elegant. Just replace elegant with one of this and it will look litle more just.

Indeed. There is almost nothing going for the Elegant Poleaxe at the moment.
All of the other top tier weapons have some reason to justify their expense; for the Flamberge, Arbalest, Plated Charger, Longbow and Long Espada (it has good length, speed and a very powerful stab) they are the "heaviest" weapons in that slot.

Why would you want that? Mighty is the same as masterwork but it adds weight, which is useful for stunning enemies.

Weird, didn't realize that some mighty weapons get the speed bonus and some don't.

Really? That sucks, I hate when a weapon is poorly heirloomed!

Nerf the Poleaxe, buff the Elegant, leave the German alone.

No reason for the regular Poleaxe to have, what, 10 reach and 5(!!) more pierce damage than the Elegant?  Speed is not a good trade off for long polearms since they're all fast as hell no matter what.

I didn't feel Poleaxe needed a nerf whatsoever. Yeah I think the Elegant should have the superior stab as it is shorter and for some reason seems like it would be easier to stab with.
Long polearms have very bad feinting speed and no they aren't very fast; I often was outspeeded with my +3 Great Long Axe.

Christo

I understand your pain, I've also been using the Elegant Poleaxe way before, until they nerfed the speed to uselessness making it effectively the worst high-end polearm you can get with a huge price tag on it.

I would also still be using it if I had one that was +3'd, it was my only saving grace.

I think it would do well to receive 1 more speed, 3 more blunt mode damage and only have the speed reduced by 1-2, not 4 (when in secondary mode)
