Horse Throwing Accuracy is even worse than in native, also you don't get extra ammo

(often mounted javelineers in ancient times had javelin cases strapped to their horses)

easier to just be a horse archer or horse xbow, more ammo, can keep greater distance between yourself and enemy, and can actually hit stuff

And how about a build including 5 Horse Archery skill? Won't it work? It should be a really stable and small reticule.

I made a STF Javalry character. I played at least 4 hours, and never got a single kill while throwing from horseback. Not the most powerful class.

Takes a lot of skill. Probably the hardest class to play. And since not many actually enjoy challenge there's your answer.

if you have 5 HA you will do no dmg at all.

i play one but just for the fun, you don't do serious dmg with the throwing part but its nice to harass archers. :)
I loot corpses of their golden teeth.
But he'll be around somewhere between Heaven and The Devil, because neither of them will take him in, and he'll be farting loudly and singing a filthy song.

i'll be there at around

If you want five Horse archery, you need 30 agi, so you will most likely be limited to 9 strength unless you sacrafice WM, so you are looking at

Strength: 9
Agility: 30
Hit points: 44
Skills to attributes: 8
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 0
Shield: 0
Athletics: 0
Riding: 7
Horse Archery: 5
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 3
Weapon Master: 8

Throwing: 173
Use war darts I guess. I don't think you will do much in the way of damage so I doubt it is worth it. Other then that, you can use 15/24 like a standard horse archer. Either one is likely worse then horse archer or xbow though. That being said I started leveling a horse thrower a few days ago, but I am building towards 18/18 so I have athletics and can be useful without a horse.

Ammo is shit, damage is shit, easier to just get a destrier and twoshot bump everyone to death.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

Yeah, his strategy was bump, stop/slow down, then throw at the guy while he was still on the ground. Seems a lot easier than hitting a moving target at a full gallop, but more risky. Really, this strategy is closer to a bumpslashing 1h/2h cavalry than true ranged cavalry.

Amatsuka is somewhat effective using throwing lances on horseback. He/She is also fucking crazy, often attacking the enemy by 15 seconds into the round or earlier. Sometimes this can garner 2 kills on important archers or lightly armoured folk that are unaware. However, that tactic is very vulnerable to people paying attention to what's going on, and if that happens, often Amatsuka is dead 30 seconds into the round.

I played my HA character as a horse-hunter for several gens.  I tried HT a while ago, the aim is not as bad as people seem to think if you have done HA for a while.  Just a different timing for releasing your missiles.

If my HA was a constant rain of accurate, low-medium damage to enemy horses, HT was like a much more explosive version.  You may miss and run out of ammo incredibly quickly, or you may 1-shot the cataphract chasing you with your jarid.

Both fun, challenging, effective, and rewarding, but HA is much more viable for Strat.  Otherwise I'd go HT all the way, purely for the ability to wreck horses in two-three hits.
